I used to live in Marietta and always liked the restaurant... only when i moved away did I realize what a jewel this restaurant is... the salad... wow.... the rolls... 2X wow.. the veal, chicken, red snapper 3X wow... house wine very good.. You cannot make a mistake going to this restaurant... did I mention the reasonable prices... best value I know… - anonymous – from atlanta.citysearch.com A great romantic Italian meal... The warm, amber atmosphere makes Scalini's one of the most intimate restaurants in Marietta . The high backed wood booths (ask for one!) are simple and romantic (look for all the carved names of previous couples), yet they cocoon the diner, preparing them for an almost medieval Italian culinary experience. - anonymous – from atlanta.citysearch.com But how 'bout the food, you say? You'll never go back to Olive Garden after you eat THIS salad. Red Wine vinaigrette marries with olive oil and fresh herbs to lavish the lettuce. This is no whimpy side salad -- this is TRUE Italian. Garbanzo beans, sliced beets, cucumbers, mozz cheese, tomatoes, onions. And the waiters don't skimp -- they're ready with seconds when you are. I quite honestly dream of the garlic bread -- it is obvious at Scalini's they (rightfully) disdain mere garlic powder -- this is garlic so fresh it burns! The rolls are puffy, melt-in-your-mouth goodness drenched with butter and fresh chopped garlic. Let them sit for a while, or unapologetically sop *er -- just don't worry about the calories; trust me, it's worth it. Absolute bliss! You'll never want any other garlic bread. Eggplant parmesan is supposed to be a house specialty. I can't honestly say. What I do know is that the chicken with proscuitto (I can't recall the name) is divine. I always highly recommend the fetti alfredo as a side. It's got a special robust garlic bite that is pure heaven. And, if you have room afterwards, tiramisu is good, if small portioned. Don't worry, it's authentic, like everything here. – anonymous – from atlanta.citysearch.com All I can say is, lots of love went into the creation of Scalini's, and it is obvious to all its loyal fans. If you are looking for a place to bring friends, I promise, it will not disappoint. There is something in the atmosphere itself that makes people loosen and enjoy themselves. Reservations recommended. – anonymous – from atlanta.citysearch.com I am a first generation Italian-American. I grew up to the smell of tomato, basil, and garlic bubbling in my kitchen, my Nona’s meatballs, and my mom's pasta *jerkioli. I have been disappointed in the past by the Olive Garden type restaurants that seem to populate the south as a representation of Italian food. Until I found Scalini's. Their food is superb! I can honestly say that they are one of the best restaurants I have been to in the south. – anonymous – from atlanta.citysearch.com Scalinis has the best italian food. The salad is wonderful and the garlic rolls are the best. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is great and very versatile. They have booths great for couples out for a romantic evening. Scalinis also has rooms great for company parties and family gatherings. I have eaten there many times, both on dates and with large groups. Every time the service and food has been great. I higly recommend scalinis to anyone. – cole711 Scalini's reminds me of the Italian restaurants in Little Italy, New York . It's a bold statement considering that Little Italy has some of the best restaurants in the country but Scalini's definitely compares. The food is great. I have always been seated quickly - even on a Friday and Saturday night. The staff is great. – nfraser1 Scallini's is one of the few homestyle Italian places left. Their garlic rolls are amazing and the main dishes are affordable and fulfilling. If there is a wait, you will still get seated pretty quickly. If you are an eggplant fan, it is simply divine. – pastagirl_99 Great food and nice, cozy place to take a date or your family and friends. The staff is quick, very friendly and helpful. The desserts are yummy. Give them a try and you won't be sorry. – honeychild "This cozy restaurant offers an array of different Italian dishes as well as ambiance. Be sure to visit the couples tables where couples have made their love known by leaving their mark on the walls and tables!" - sharon22222
